ARDA Power today announced the placement of an order by ESS, Inc. for ARDA Battery DC-DC Converters. The Converters will be paired with the ESS All-Iron Flow Battery (IFB) system to be delivered under contract to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The converters and All-Iron Flow Battery (IFB) will be part of an integrated microgrid at Fort Leonard Wood in Missouri, where they will demonstrate the flexible longer-duration energy storage capability for use in Forward Operating Bases (FOB).
It is anticipated that the purchase order is the beginning of collaboration between ARDA Power and ESS that will lead to embedding ARDA technology into the ESS product line.

“ESS understands the importance of the military’s mission and their requirements for robust, user friendly systems. ARDA offers a seamless, efficient, power conversion solution that will enhance our systems performance and fortify our outstanding reliability,” said Mark Hagedorn, Director of Operations at ESS.

About ARDA Power

ARDA Power is working to change forever the way the world implements microgrid systems for commercial/industrial buildings. For the first time ever you can simply and quickly configure a system using common controls and standard components. A battery-centric DC-connected platform conceived by ARDA engineers, with technology originally developed at the University of Toronto, make possible microgrids that are simple, low cost and resilient.

ARDA Power is now selling the hardware core of its platform – the ARDA Battery DC-DC Converter – to storage companies, and will begin selling a complete microgrid solution later in 2017. For more information please visit ardapower.com
